The first Chevy Blazer was produced in 1973 and was then called as the "K-5"
model. Blazer for every generation production are improved and upgraded as shown
in Chevy Blazer parts, accessories and other auto components. The second generation Blazers produced
in 1987 have changed body styles, interior equipments and optional hard top cover.
However due to slow sales and demands, the two wheel drive Blazer was removed.
For 1992, the convertible Chevy Blazer was completely converted into a full size
vehicle. The once adjustable and removable roof was permanently set in place making
it a two-door short wheelbase car. For 2002 Blaze came with new features like
the opening in the cab area through a “mid-gate” for easier entrance and exit.
Generally, Chevy Blazer is a sport utility vehicle available in four level trims
powered by a Vortec 4300 V6 engine capable of boosting 190 horsepower paired with
a five-speed manual transmission except for Blazer four-door which has a four-speed
transmission. Standard car parts for all models are four-wheel anti-lock brake
paired with am/fm stereo and CD player, custom cloth front reclining bucker seats
and split-folding rear set for ease and comfort especially during long extended
drives, driver and front- passenger air-bags for protection and security against
crash and accidents and rear-seat heat ducts to adjust the temperature inside
the car.
For Blazer two-door, independent front and multileaf rear suspension are standard.
Stand-out features are daytime running lamps with automatic exterior lamp control,
lift glass or dropgate, five-spoke aluminum wheels and rear-quarter swing-out
window. Two-door Extreme types have head-turning cladding, wheel flares, grille,
fog lamps, aluminum wheels and liftglass. ZR two-door is equipped with specially
tuned off-road suspension, underbody shield package and road tires that can be
used on the highways or off the road depending on the driver’s choice. Standard
parts for Blazer four-door are upgraded 60/40 custom cloth front bench and split-folding
rear bench.
Aftermarket car parts are also readily available for Chevy Blazer. These are
parts not included in the car’s original package as offered by the manufacturer.
As the name suggest, these parts are bought separately in auto part markets. Common
aftermarket parts for Blazer are euro projector headlights, hood, grille, fan
blade, radiator support, auto grille, door handle, power steering box, side and
rear view mirror, upper intake manifold, fenders, headlight, radiators, bumpers
and mufflers. Other safety devices such as signal mirror system, airbags and belts
are also considered as aftermarket.
